Opening: The meeting was opened at 12:20 by President Dave Andrews
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Eric Shapira.
Inspirational Thought: Joe Brennan read an inspirational quote from Eleanor Roosevelt:
HOPE: Surely, in the light of history, it is more intelligent to hope rather than to fear, to try rather than not to try. For one thing we know beyond all doubt: Nothing has ever been achieved by the person who says, `It can't be done.' from You Learn By Living (1960)
Dave extended a warm welcome to our guests, the New Teachers and Administrators in our Cabrillo Unified School District

(Dave mentioned to the teachers about Bo Bobko’s career as an astronaut) ; Ed thanked everyone for helping to raise funds for a friend’s cancer medications (several members gave Ed money to help make his fund-raising goal, as he was short $48) as usual Rotarians stepped up at the meeting with donations to exceed his goal; Eric is off to China on Sept. 5 to teach at a hospital there.
