Jayne Hulbert, District Governor and active member of Marin Evening for 20+ years
Life-time White Hat Society Member, Paul Harris Society and Arch Klumph Society  
 
She began by noting that our Club is the Friendliest Club around long term and with so many community projects - our Service Above Self is not unnoticed!
 
She presented RI president Barry Rassin's motto "Be The Inspiration"
Asking who inspired you? Who inspired you to join? How were you treated by that person?
 
Jayne described Leadership in Action...call a member if they miss a meeting or two ask after them, make them feel special especially new members. Praise their contributions and encourage everyone to become Paul Harris Fellows.

Take action which brings us all together, then we see what we have done and the potential it has!
Be People of Action - GET INVOLVED!
 
Look to the new Generation, to Youth for they are the future of Rotary with fresh new ideas.
RYLA provides an amazing leadership seminar. There is $200 grand to clubs to be used as fit.
Toward this end President Rassin stated the goal "to double Rotoact and Interact Clubs"

Gene is a retired pharmacist and now has the acronym title of “GOD”- Governor’s Official Driver”.

Dave Andrews – Gave club a birthday donation.  He celebrated his 61st birthday.  Good news on his biopsy for the benign dysplasia growth in mouth, lesion biopsy; has high definition of Glutens and bad cholesterol.    All is good.  
 
Rosi Fontana – shared how great the Rotary 4th of July event was. Rotary was in the front of the parade.  Steve Wilson’s vintage car, '37 Chevy,  was a hit. Liz coordinated a great event.
 
Liz Schuck – Louise joined the club on the 4th.  Liz made cupcakes with blue icing – Bill Johnston sported a blue icing mustache.
 
Teresa Adam – gave the club $52 in celebration of her retirement tomorrow from the bank.
 
Kevin O’Brien – enjoyed the recent Giants/Cubs games in which the Giants won both games. Now the Giants want Kevin to attend all games. Tim Haller went with Kevin and says they won because of him.
 
Dave Dickson – Daughter, Dara, got married recently at the Arts and Garden Center.
 
Stacy Trevenon – arm out of full arm cast. No more “tree stump”.
 
John Evans - our exchange student returns to France this Sunday.
Larkin had her surgery in Southern California/UC Irvine on the 28th.  Very successful surgery for glossopharyngeal neuralgia is an irritation of the ninth cranial nerve causing extreme pain in the back of the throat, tongue and ear. Attacks of intense, electric shock-like pain can occur without warning or can be triggered by swallowing. John shared details of the surgery.
 
Rosi Fontana – 17-year-old granddaughter finals with National Soccer Team could lead to the World Club in Uruguay. She
s graduating with 3.67 GPA.
 
President Paul Wrubel was missing a lot in June enjoying a family reunion that spans 4 generations, ages 1 to 93.   72 family members attended with one member from Europe. 
 
His son-in- law, who is a very successful business man working in low to moderated housing, had 3million points in travel miles( bought 14 tickets) and treated the family to a trip to Maui for 2 weeks.
 
Paul shared his moments at PETS and introduction to Rotary and all that it involves.  Rick King, past international president, listed all that new club presidents learn and are expected to master. He says it is not that bad so far, when you panic who ya gonna call? Thanks Warren, Lizzie and others for all their support.
 
The “Barmore Debunking” was fun although lightly attended.
 
                       
 
Tim Haller received the “Best new actor in a leading role” award. (He played Warren.)

Warren Barmore is in Southern California with daughter who is in the State softball championships.

Announcements:  Focus on MEMBERSHIP
 
           
Brian Lee has had to resign as membership chair and Tim Haller has agreed to take this on. Remember the club is all part of recruiting membership.
 
President Paul Wrubel has with the blessings of Rotary started a membership opportunity for organizations.   – Half Moon Bay Brewery has signed up (Nate Rey was one of our members). There will be two alternatives attending meetings. 
 
Paul has also approached John Parsons, and they are excited about their return to the club.
John and his son John William will be joining.
 
Paul will be talking to the Sheriff’s department next week and will be contacting all past Rotary members.
 
Liz Schuck   update on Relay for Life event in Pacifica this weekend has 5 Rotarians from club.
Dave Andrews will help with set up.  We have reached our goal of $1,000. Paul is walking from midnight to 4AM shift.   Let’s get out there and do this for “Rusty”.
 
Update on Rusty – she has had her 3rd chemo treatment which has set her back.

Our Monthly Rotary Day at the Community Free Breakfast (held at the Lutheran Church will be Wednesday,  JULY 25.  Please sign up for a shift for future days (last Wednesday of each month.)
