Everyone crowded into seats at the Sacrilege Brewery in Half Moon Bay and joined in animated conversation to celebrate Magic of the Coastside -- a big cause for celebration as it brought in something like $42,000, and still counting.
The meeting was characterized by a delicious lunch, celebratory fellowship and recognition of the many who, behind and in front of the scenes, made it happen.
Past President Liz Schuck pointed out the special commemorative touches at each place setting, that recognized everyone's efforts and gave club members something by which to remember the occasion -- little shrimp toys, saluting Magic's shrimp dinner.
President Warren ran through the list of sponsors at multiple levels, recognizing those present with little medals:
Gold: Robin Jeffs and Clayton Partners, Dave Dickson and Marla Wong, Dwight Wilson and Mission Hospice, Stacy Trevenon, Warren Barmore / Edward Jones, First National Bank of NorCal, Tim Haller and Miller Dutra Coastside Chapel, Kelly Hoffman Davis and Graphicworks, Mike Alifano and Alifano Technologies;
Silver: Nate and Rose Serdy / Alain Pinel, Mitone Griffiths and Vantage Wealth, Ginger Minoletti and Bay World Travel, Steve and Kathy Wilson;
Bronze: Patricia Roma, Dick Charnock / Real Estate Fund, Dianne Bobko and Assoc., Mary Corcoran;
Friends: Law Offices of William R. Johnston, Weller/O'Brien Insurance, Garcia Fontana Quantitative Research, HMB Chamber of Commerce, Linda Crose-Andersen, HMB Coastside Tours, Today's Haircuts, California Color.
Sponsorship alone counted for some $17, 000.
Kevin O'Brien was thanked for his work selling tickets.
The people helping out in the kitchen received acknowledgement and thanks. Rose Serdy found the caterer.

Recognition also went to:
Rosi and EJ, for getting the evening's entertainment, the "Dueling Pianos," a pair of pianists who brought laughter while striking the right chords to familiar melodies, and also donated their tips to Rotary. EJ also helped coordinate the event. He is still in Germany.

Dianne for chairing Service Above Self outstanding Coastside Volunteer recognition. Award winner Sister Jeannette was said to be "smitten" with her award, and "speechless" upon being named the honoree. Also receiving recognition were Service Above Self committee members Ginger (who handled the certificates plaque) and her helper, Paul Minoletti; Mary (who was recognized for her HMB Review articles about Magic and also about the Service Above Self award); Dave Cresson, Dwight Wilson and Joe Brennan and Ginger for participating in the Judging Panel; and Bonnie and Jason, who took photos. All received wands.

John Evans presented the Young Service Above Self awardee; Siena Hinshelwood, whom John called a "typical" example of selfless service among youth.

Mary, Linda and Renee were saluted for their work with the auction. Mary got applause for her role in running it. This year's online auction was noted for its size and complexity. Linda was saluted for her involvement on the actual night. Tim received Gold Sponsor recognition for having brought a full table of people to the event. Visitor Kathy Monozon picked up Renee's recognition trophy. Also helping with the auction were Gina and Angela Brazil, Jane Hall from the Rotary Club of Mill Valley, Hayley Anderson, Siena Hinshelwood, Mitone, Catherine and Kevin.
Teresa, who could not be present because she was "holding down the bank," was recognized for her work with event decorations. Joining her were Rose, Ginger, Catherine and Teri P., among others (who received wands).

Paul was recognized for heading setup and takedown. Joining him were Dave A., Heather, Ed, Mike Serdy, Kevin, Bill Johnston, Warren, Stacy, Doug, Irwin, Steve and Kathy Wilson (who received wands).
The bar committee under Brian Lee, was recognized amid mention of Mojitos for those who bid. Joining Brian were Jason, Dave Dickson, Ed, Warren and Joe (who received wands).

Recognized for promoting the event were Ed, Charise and Mary (again for her Review articles). Ed Daniels was recognized for promotion through the local radio station. Charise was recognized for her support of promotions put up around town.
Arancha and Steve were thanked for their help with the raffle. Big winners included Pat Roma, Paul W. and Arancha.
Mitone got many thanks for organizing student volunteers to help with the dinner. The helpers included Cunha Intermediate and Half Moon Bay High schools students Ayla Griffiths, Emily and Sydney Lunasin, Tiana, Nikki and Kaci Sorfleet, Siena Hinshelwood, Hayley, Angela, Linda, Maryann and Susan (don't have many last names here) all helped out in various ways with the food at Magic and received certificates.
And our exchange students Louise and Rafa who sold raffle tickets to help raise around $4,000.
Heartfelt recognition also went to Dianne and Kevin, two Rotarians who went above and beyond in their work for and support of this event.
