Pres. Warren Barmore opened his meeting as President by stating we are the best club and asked Brian Lee to lead the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Irwin Cohen (Past President) and Rosi Fontana, the weekly Sergeant of Arms, greeted members today. Rosi Fontana read a poem by E.E. Cummins whose theme was thanking God for all the good in the world.
Visitors and Guests:
Shana Reilly-Pond introduced Stephanie and Julie from the Wilkinson School who wanted to visit after Shana reached out to them regarding our dictionary program.
Happy/Not So Happy News

Steve Wilson came back from a week in Spain.
Warren talked about the challenges with the fires in the North Bay. Mary
Susan Kealey said her niece in Clear Lake received the “all clear” notice and her home is ok.
John Evans is bringing over a nice lady from China on Friday who is doing recruitment and will work the booths on Saturday. He also bringing over a recent graduate from Stanford who has provided mentoring support in the past for our students.
Bill and Ayn Johnston are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
New Members – Linda Crose-Andersen with Steve Wilson introduced our new member Arancha Casal. She was given the red badge and received a standing ovation from the membership.
Announcements
Pres Warren showed a couple of videos regarding Rotary and ending polio.
Brian Lee announced there is a bingo event on October 24th that will benefit Abundant Grace and the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital.
Shana Reilly-Pond announced the following: 1) Wilkinson School will serve as a drop off point for items for the North Bay fires; 2) October 25th and the next free breakfast event and she is looking for volunteers; 3) also on October 25th is the training at SFO on human trafficking. Shana has signed us up to participate in the Interfaith free community breakfast at the Lutheran Church on September 27th. Four Rotarians each are needed for 6 to 8am and 8 to 9:45am shift. This will be a monthly event.
Exchange Students Updates

Louise tried surfing this weekend and gave a monologue in one of her classes.
Raffa also tried surfing this weekend and spent time in San Francisco.
Upcoming Events
Rotary Foundation Event at the Wax museum on October 21st.
Next week’s lunch will be at the Selville Tapas.
Pumpkin Festival - Paul Wrubel
He is very happy with all the support he has received for this weekend’s Pumpkin Festival.
He went over the plan beginning with Friday’s preparation and the logistics of Saturday and Sunday.
Everything is in place for a successful event.
