Announcements:
New Paul Harris member! Kevin and I announced that Bill Klear was being honored with a Paul Harris Membership and gave him his pin. He was very proud and grateful to be so honored.
Liz announced that we will have a Team in the Relay for Life. She is very excited we will be fully participating this year and have our tent up. She asked people to sign up to be on the team and, where possible, get donations for the Relay efforts. She is lining up give-aways for our booth to help raise funds that day. We will not plan to be there for all 24 hours but would like people to be there for the opening ceremony, the Survivors walk and will also try to plan a team walk.

Mary sent out an email to Club Members will all the information and a link so we can sign up for the Rotary Team.
Dianne reminded everyone that Chuck Fontana's funeral would be Friday July 18 and that Rosi had requested donations be made to RotaCare in his name.
Dianne announced that the first edition of the new Foghorn Bulletin using our Club Runner Website functions was sent out by Mitone. Please give her feedback as it's still a work in progress. Mitone had contacted Dan B in May to let him know that he would have to continue trying to get the Forhorn put together. He had indicated he would continue to fill in until the new version would be ready. Dan has done such a fantastic job for so many years!
Warren announced that we will be using an iPad for people to check in at meetings and that will mean that attendance will then be automatically sent to the District for our Club. That will be a work-in-progress over the next few meetings.
Rotary Socials Dianne thanked Kendall for all her efforts to arrange our monthly evening socials. The one at Flavor Restaurant at the harbor last Wednesday evening July 16 was well attended and people had lots of fun visiting. Flavor Restaurant provided a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres and extended the happy hour just for us.
Kendall reminded everyone that our last meeting this month, Thursday, July 31 will be at Cameron's Pub. Lots of fun planned. Guests always welcome and please don't forget to Kendall know if you plan on bringing a guest.

Featured Speaker for the day was Dwight Wilson who gave a very information presentation on "Changes in Palliative Care and Hospice." He gave everyone a chance to ask questions. His presentation added greatly to an important part of our lives and those of our families. His encouraged all of us to have a completed "Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST)" somewhere visible and easy to access in case of an emergency. He carefully explained the process and our choices regarding this. He left us with copies of the form and a handout that covered his main points.
