Happy/Crappy News
Tony thanked Ginger and Mary for the ride from SFO for his wife Laura and donated to the Dictionaries Fund as part of our airport carpool.
Rosi told us about the bench in Miramar along the Coastal Trail in Chuck’s memory.
Steve A. is happy that wife Bonnie’s surgery went well and that he is going to China in May as part of our group (Joe and Stacy) joining the Alliance for Smiles mission to provide Cleft Palate surgery for children.
Liz told us about 2 students who have letters of intent for next year – 1 at UOP for a full ride and another at LMU.
John E.  thanked Mary for the great press release on Magic that she did. Dianne had sent out the link to it in her weekly email so we could all read it.
We are hoping to sell 226 meal tickets at Magic
 
Announcements:
•  Gary Chow – Visiting Rotarian from SSF – introduced  District  “Cruise for the Cause” a 7 day coastal cruise on Princess out of SF October 17th.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
•  Dictionaries and RYLA: Warren – More dictionaires will be distributed in the next couple of weeks and we have 5 sophomores and Juniors going to RYLA this year!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
•  Magic: Band Housing Need - Can you provide an overnight stay for on or two in your home for the Blue Street Band members to help defray the costs         and have more money raised for our causes?      
•  SAS Nominations Due are 2/6.
•  Dan Miller: Membership Moment - invite someone to lunch!
•  District Assembly and District Conference:   Dianne announced that all Board Members for next year and all new members of the Club are expected to attend the District Assembly, March 21, at Redwood High School in Marin.  SHe has more detailed inofrmation abou the District Conference at Disney Land in May.  Let her know if you would like it and if you are planning to go.  You can register here: www.rotary5150.org
 
•  Shana – is looking for some volunteers for Relay for Life – August 1st at HMBHS. She will be talking more about this effort and her goals at the end of April
