Shoptalk: Linda Crose-Andersen
​

Born, Stanford Children's Hospital, 1958. Raised in Los Altos. Married, 1977 (a very young bride) children Arnie 1978 and Eric 1984.
Back to school at age 38. AAA degree from Foothill while juggling two teenagers and a full-time job. Subsequently earned a masters in hypnotherapy. 

Three careers. Store executive for Mervyns for 11 years until she had a falling out with the district manager and quit. 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Worked in regulatory affairs. Third career is in real estate which is her life calling.
 
There is a life long interest in alternative healing and related matters. Evidenced by her businesses which included the Wellness Center and Crose Center for Personal Empowerment. 

Family. In 2010 she married Gregory from Brazil. She has three grand children the oldest of whom, Samantha, is three years old. Between them, she and Gregory have six children and three grandchildren. Linda shared photos of their Brazilian summertime Christmas which included the late night dinner and bathing suits and swimming pools.

Animals. Linda has a mini dachshund named Zedi and a second similar sized mutt named Zoe. She also owns a pair of alpacas named Al and Paca. She shared photographs of some of her other animal experiences including horseback riding on the beach, feeding ostriches, camels and deer. 

Favorite things to do. She enjoys hanging out with famous people. Through her involvement in the metaphysical she has spent time with Dr. Oz and Deepak Chopra. She used to have a television show called Silicon Valley Metaphysics and she's been a guest on Seeing Beyond. 

Rocks. Linda is seriously fond of rocks. Specifically the energy qualities associated with various crystals. She showed us photographs of giant geodes full of amethysts and citrine and other crystals. She describes the overwhelming energy that she obtains from being surrounded by crystals. She uses  crystals in her daily life. 

Travel. In addition to the trips to Brazil, Linda and her husband have recently spent time in Egypt, Israel and Alaska.

Publications. Linda has written a book entitled "Amazing Grace". One of the highlights of her Author career was promoting the book at the East West bookstore which she describes as the Fillmore of the metaphysical world.

Happy/Crappy News
 
Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Charise McHugh celebrated her 20th year with the Chaber at the Annual Awards Dinner on the 27th of January at Oceano.  Half Moon Bay Mayor Rick Kowalsik gave her a dozen pink roses and a proclamation from the city.  Congratulations Charise!
Happy Birthday Debbie O'Brien!  Kevin O'Brien just got back from Las Vegas where Debbie and he enjoyed Debbie's birthday gift from him to a Jennifer Lopez concert. JLO
Elizabeth Shcuck's close friend in Somona announced while visiting she is now cancer free and has decided to join the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley which has 105 members. 
 
New Member Induction
​Paul Wrubel, Director for Membership, welcomed in our new member, Mary Rogren, who was sponsored by Dave Dickson. She is the financial manager at the Coastside County Water District.  Dave and Mary met over 27 years in Belmont.  Mary, her husband Phil and two sons have been long time residents of Half Moon Bay.  She worked for many years over the hill and is happy to work locally in Half Moon Bay.

PE Elizabeth Schuck reminded club about auction items for Magic of the Coastside.
  
Joe Brennan announced  our Third Annual​ End Polio Now  Spaghetti Dinner on the 9th of February at Senior Center.  All proceeds will be matched by the Gates Foundation 2 to 1.  He also received additional donations by members at the meeting to cover cost of food.  A donation of $20 per person or table for 8 $160 is requested. PLEASE REGISTER/RESERVE ON OUR WEBSITE. 
 
The Rotary International Convention in June is at Seoul, Korea.  Sign up through DISTRICT WEBSITE. 
Dave Andrews announced that Maya Monroe has had to resign from our club to take care of her Mom.  He announced we have a new accountant for the club, Ruchi Gowda, and  Ed Daniels will become Club Treasurer.

Jeri Fujimoto , RC of San Carlos District Governor 2016-2017  PE Liz Shuck will be there with her Board Members.  All Cub members are welcomed and encouraged to go.
