Rotary Notes from 12/11/2014
- Paul Wrubel and Susan Kealey led the group in the National Anthem.
- Joe Brennan gave the inspirational thought asking who was the person who embodied passion for our community, and the answer was Farmer John Muller.

Happy/Crappy News:
1) Charise talked about her experience with major flooding this morning at her home and calling on Dave Andrews disaster recovery team to fix it. Photos on Facebook if you're interested
2) Mitone proudly talked about Mia’s swimming performance
3) Ginger talked about a dancer stepping on her foot and injuring it at latest Club Med trip, and it appears Rotary may have its first woman International President within 2 years
4) Susan announced she would like to give away her 1970 VW Bug and got all sorts of opinions on how she should work to make it an auction item
5) Joe thanked those who helped contribute to “Adopt a Family” program.
Announcements: Joe announced the Spaghetti Dinner to support the Polio Program on January 27, 2015 that will be at the Coastside Senior Center. Suggested Donation is $20, and they are looking for sponsors to cover the cost of cheese and the like.
Cell Phone Violation ($20!): Kevin’s cell phone “interrupted” the meeting and then 5 minutes later so did Charise’s cell phone. Wonder who called Charise ----- hmm?? - Kevin.
Dianne encouraged everyone to read her email that she forwarded from the District Chair on the Microcredit Project and how effective these programs are. She thanked the World Community Service Committee especially Dan Miller who let this effort last year and Mitone who was President.
Susan Kealey announced that everyone should be thinking about nominations from non-profits of individuals for the “Magic Service Above Self.” Forms are going out in January and the committee is looking for a couple more individuals to serve on it.
Maya Munro announced that the Toy Wrapping is on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, 12/22 at the PCC. She encouraged everyone to sign up for the potluck, and the sign up sheets were being distributed plus you can sign up on our website. Several members volunteered to bring misc. items to support the wrapping.
Charise announced you can go to the Rocket Farms and mention the Chamber and Light up Rotary for purchases without a minimum purchase.
PROGRAM
Elizabeth Schuck led the program Magic preparation session to discuss the auction items. We raised around $8300 in 2014, and she has set a goal to raise $20,000 at the event on 3/21/2015. Read more by clicking here
Members were encouraged to give Elizabeth their suggestions.
- Dianne reminded everyone that next week’s meeting is our Annual meeting with election of officers for 2016 plus the Board of Directors. The state of club and foundation will be presented.
