Happy / Crappy News
Dwight Wilson is unfortunately missing the Pumpkin Festival this year and will be unable to help at our chowder booth. In lieu of his presences, he's donating $100 to the club to which will help our club projects. Dwight will be going to Venice, he'll tour the Croatian coast on a bike and visit Prague and Rome as well.
Ralph Ely also made a donation because he'll be going to Mallora, Spain. Ginger Minoletti and Mary Corcoran are taking a trip to Italy (Ginger will have an opportunity to visit Valentina who was our exchange student last year) and going on a cruise with the Royal Clipper. A clipper ship sailing from Venice and visiting ports in Croatia and Montenegro among other places.
Joe Brennan who recently won the marble drawing will not be able to attend the Pumpkin Fest and is ALSO making a donation to the Club. He is putting up the $800 winning to match anyone elses donation. The donations will be split between the Club and RI. He got enough people join him in his donation and will be matching each one. Thank you Joe!Ginger Minoletti says Bay World Travel is looking to expand. Not only do they need to hire and train younger travel agents to fill a void in the industry, she also needs to move into a larger office. She's applied for a grant through Mission Main Street Grants sponsored by Chase. In order to be considered for the grant, she needs 250 votes. Click here to place your votes for Bay World Travel.
Charise McHugh wanted to remind everyone that Monday, Oct. 13 is Weigh In Day for all the large pumpkins. Come on out to see it. It starts early and gets exciting as the larger pumpkins get weighed. Also, the forecast for Pumpkin Fest weekend looks like rain.... but they've been wrong before.....
